That's my kidney asshole!

A Texas girls basketball team cancelled their season after losing a game 100-0. There are so many things wrong with this story, it’s hard to know where to begin. First of all, I congratulate the athletic department for being possibly the first sports organization in history to officially give up. Maybe we can finally put away those tired old cliches such as “never quit” and “don’t stop believing.”  We all know that is bullshit anyway.  If I was on a team that is losing by 30 to 80 points in any sport, I am going to give up.  I know the stats and the likelihood of a miracle and its not really worth the effort to keep going.  It’s a good thing they stopped the season anyway, because a few more beat downs like that and those girls would never be right in the head.

Now another thing about this team, which hasn’t won a game in four years, is that it was comprised of special needs students.  I think that having athletic opportunities for challenged students is important, but perhaps they should be competing against similar schools instead of going up against traditional teams, like the one that drilled them by 100 points.  Finally,  a strong round of applause for the jackass coach that allowed the game to get so out of hand.  Hey Bill Russell, why not play a slow down offense after you build a 70 point lead?  I am sure that when the game was 92-0, that a full court press was not really needed.  Of course the coach released a statement calling the outcome “unfortunate.”   Ha ha.  You think?
