Tiger Slammed

You thinking what I'm thinking?

Mike Freeman of CBS sports has penned a piece criticizing Tiger Woods for being non-political. Now anyone who has followed Tiger’s career to this point knows that he is quite possibly the worst interview and most unquotable athlete of all time.  His press conferences are like a slow drill to the base of the skull and he has the on camera personality of a mild stroke victim.  That is not to say that Woods is not compelling.  His energy and enthusiasm on the course more than make up for his lack of charisma in the interview room.  Freeman is asking why Tiger refuses to make a stand on any political issues and tends to carry his noncommital personality with him wherever he goes.  Personally, I could give a damn about what political views an athlete has, or that anyone has for that matter.  I decide my positions on my own and dont need someone who swings a metal stick at a tiny ball to tell me whether or not a trade embargo makes sense or if we should be providing aid to Rwanda.  Unfortunately, I understand where Freeman is coming from here.  He knows that the majority of people are not able to form their own opinions, let alone tie their shoes.  Someone with the worldwide influence of Tiger Woods could probably make a difference, but is that what we really want?  The only Tiger I know is a helluva putter and a pretty boring dude.  Behing closed doors, however, he could be a raving lunatic.
